How do I make friends with someone who speaks a different language?

There's a girl in my math class who speaks Spanish, while everyone else speaks English. I feel so bad for her, as the teacher can't speak Spanish either. I'm taking Spanish, but I can't say very much with ';Como estas?'; (How are you?) I want to get to know her but we speak different languages, and she can't speak a word of English. Please help me, as I really want to help her out in school and get to be her friend! How do I make friends with someone who speaks a different language?

Well try to carry a spanish dictionary in math so you can look up ever word she says and also try to teacher some spanish i would tell the teacher to do the same so she can understand what is going on i would make her do good in math and you to become her friend!! But it might be hard but don't give up on her if she doesn't get it just keep trying and don't lose faith on yourself!!
Easily, I think she would understand ';hi';. Just go up to her, smile, and say ';hi, my name is %26lt;name%26gt;';. Even though that's english, you can stick out your hand and shake hers. Clearly she will hear some jargon she's never heard, but at the end, she will hear a name. Knowing that you are smiling, sticking out your hand, she will know you are introducing yourself.

When you talk to her, use a lot of hand gestures. That will get the message across to her and hand gestures can be understood in almost any language. :D

Hope you become good friends with her :D.
Spanish is a fairly easy language to pick up, so keep studying and you'll learn more. Simple hand gestures are understood universally, so the two of you should still be able to communicate. As you speak to one another, you'll be able to learn each other's language.
Get a spanish/english dictionary and teach each other.
