How do you tell someone you don't want to be friends with them anymore after knowing them for over 2 years?

I have been friends with someone for a little over 2 years and she is getting really annoying and i don't know how to tell her that i don't want to be friends with out hurting her feelings. i gave you a star because there really is no correct answer for this question. we all know people like that. for me, i've known the girl for 10 years.


my answer - don't tell her up front, that will only make you look bad. don't get her a full out cold shoulder, either. instead, when you see her, become less and less enthusiastic and excited to see her as time goes on. she will eventually find you ';not fun'; to be around, and you'll just end up being acquaintances. or, usually it gets awkward between you two, and you two will pass through the hall without even a hello.


i know this happens because i've actually lost good friendships this way. so this is your ticket to ';losing a friend';
well, i woz really good friends with this group of girls for 4 years, but last year they started leavin me out of everyfin n talkin bout me behind ma bak n callin me names, it hurt so bad, i cried 4 ages coz i thort they wer my frends, wich ruined my confidence and im really shy and quiet anyway


I wud of rather them said, ';We don't really want to hang round wif u anymor';

i've had a problem like this before.. simply tell them that they have become annoying, or ask them why they are, tell them you aren't trying to be mean, but they have... they might be mad, but at least they will know the truth
You never have to tell someone that type of thing. You just stop doing the things you normally do. They will figure it out.
just stop talking and hanging around. they'll read your mind.
