Aw, I had the same problem.
It was really hard watching them flirting with others and knowing I could never be with them but I just tried. Every time I felt love towards them I tried to ignore it and push it to the back of my mind. Of course this is very hard to do and may take some time but you'll manage it eventually and meet somebody else who makes you feel new love.

Just don't act awkward or anything different than before you asked her out. She'll follow your lead and your ask out will just go into history.
